Meet Your Orthodontist

Dr. Wang received her dental training at Sichuan University West China School of Stomatology (华西口腔), one of China’s most prestigious and internationally recognized dental schools, before moving to the United States to further pursue advanced education and research.

She earned a Ph.D. in Oral Biology at Texas A&M University College of Dentistry, where her research focused on the development and remodeling of facial and skeletal bones, as well as the role of periodontal ligament stem cells in new bone formation during orthodontic tooth movement. This scientific foundation gave Dr. Wang a deep understanding of how bone biology influences orthodontic treatment and facial development.

Building on her strong background in dentistry and research, Dr. Wang completed her orthodontic residency at University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. Developed under the leadership of legendary orthodontist Dr. Charles Burstone, the UConn orthodontic program is internationally renowned for pioneering orthodontic biomechanics — the science behind precise, carefully controlled tooth movement and bite correction.

Dr. Wang’s academic background bridges orthodontics, bone biology, and craniofacial development. She earned a Ph.D. in Oral Biology at Texas A&M University College of Dentistry, where her work focused on bone remodeling, craniofacial development, and the biological mechanisms behind orthodontic tooth movement. One of her most widely cited studies explored how periodontal ligament stem cells respond to orthodontic forces and contribute to new bone formation during tooth movement.

Dr. Wang has authored 16 peer-reviewed scientific publications and presented her work at national and international conferences. Her academic background continues to shape her evidence-based and detail-oriented approach to orthodontic care.

Outside the office, Dr. Wang enjoys spending time with her husband, an electronic engineer and her high school sweetheart, and their young son. As a family, they enjoy exploring the Austin area, trying new foods, and creating memorable moments together during this exciting season of life.
